Is something causing this, or is it just a coincidence? š¤
Strategic is no longer one of the most common CliftonStrengths. I've been a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach for almost 10 years, and from what I can recall the most common CliftonStrengths worldwide, year after year, are Achiever, Learner, Responsibility, Relator, and Strategic. In 2023, the last in the list has been replaced by Restorative.
This change surprises me because I donāt see Restorative in peopleās top 5 very often. That said, in 2022 I facilitated a virtual CliftonStrengths workshop for a group of contact center representatives. Though I was surprised to see that more than half of them had Restorative, I surmised that they were just very well-suited for their line of work: enthusiastically solving problems and restoring āorder.āāš
I recall the facilitator of my certification course (rest in peace, Curt Liesveld) telling us that experiencing significant trauma can impact the order of a personās CliftonStrengths, causing something towards the bottom of their list to suddenly appear closer to the top. This very thing had, in fact, happened to one of the other attendees whose spouse had died unexpectedly.
Could Restorativeās appearance as one of 2023ās most common CliftonStrengths have anything to do with the worldās emergence from a pandemic? Or am I reaching? š¤
Restorative has been in my top 5 for many years but I do see how experiencing a global trauma could cause it to rank higher in people's strengths. Great insight!
